How to give constructive criticism to the one you love

Image
Dating is a beautiful journey where two mature individuals come together to discover if they are compatible and shape themselves into the better versions for their purpose in marriage(you see, I said for their purpose in marriage because marriage has a part to play in fulfilling God's agenda for marriage) but what happens when you value your partner's feelings over their future?  (p.s. This is my last post on love for February; let us leave romance and read Romans; thanks. I know, not funny, lol) When you find your person, you get this beautiful feeling; the world pops with vibrancy. The grass is greener, the air is purer, this jolt of electricity runs through you when you are with them, or you think about them, then you say to yourself, ''I don't know how, but I want to be everything right to and for this person'. Then you start dating and begin to see the things you never saw. A wise woman once said  love is not the feeling you feel when you feel a feeling you...

Let Love Heal

Image
Your first image of love and support is often your Family.  From the moment we're born, our families determine our view on care and affection. They teach us about love, kindness, and acceptance. Their words and actions can profoundly impact our self-esteem and how we view ourselves. When our families show us love and acceptance, it helps us develop a strong foundation of self-love. They celebrate our achievements, embrace our quirks, and encourage us to be authentic. Their unwavering support creates a safe space to be ourselves without fear of judgment. But what if our family dynamics aren't so positive?  Sometimes, families can unintentionally contribute to feelings of self-doubt or low self-worth. Maybe there's criticism or comparison, or they struggle with their insecurities and fail to manage their expressions. It's important to remember that this isn't your fault. You deserve love and acceptance just as much as anyone else. Building self-love in challenging fam...

WHAT LOVE IS NOT IN A DATING RELATIONSHIP

Image
The month of 'Roses and Coco' is here again, A special time when lovers come out, And the pringles squeeze their faces in subtle envy. I know that your mind goes into creative mode when this season comes. The love birds begin implementing their pre-drawn wooing tactics, and the singles find that their minds carve out a unique space for social media ingestion and mental recreations of their own ' God when scenarios '. We can all agree that we love, Love. But while February is the month of love, and we talk about the beauties of gift-giving, quality time, acts of service, physical touch and words of affirmation, only a handful of people take a trail back to the seemingly minute incidences in their love lives, both in platonic relations and where passion ignites for the opposite sex to see how those points form the templates through which they give and receive love, specifically before they decide to say ' I do '. Understand the direction of this article; expressin...

(The Motive) Ways to build your devotional life in 2024

Image
In an ancient kingdom, hidden far in the forest, behind age-long sediments-turned boulders, which made it impossible to access their hidden treasures, laid the unseen tribe of Kumahu, the glorious wonder over the rocks. Kumahu was nature's pristine possession. Laced with lush, undisturbed meadows,  sun-kissed beaches, and lakes. Having a powerful security clan and vast population growth, one would think they were truly enlightened, but sadly, Kumahu had very barbaric practices. There were gruesome tales of human sacrifice to the god of fertility’Kæʼ, the consumption of human flesh in times of scarcity, but one rule reigned above all “ Aeytįc ür Aeytįc ” meaning “ An eye for an eye ”.  In Kumahu, there were silent rebels who believed against human sacrifices, flesh consumption and, most especially, the ritual of Aeytįc ür Aeytįc , a ritual of judgment where two offended people would brawl, and their settlement would be the bleeding lifeless body of the weaker offende...

(The Mindset) Ways to build your devotional life in 2024

Image
You see that list you drew up, itemizing everything you would do to build your devotional life in 2024. The list that is now gathering dust on your wall. I won't tell you to throw it away, lol. Let's do this instead; how about we review that list based on today’s topic of conversation?  After reading this article, if your list requires adjustment, you're welcome. If it requires trashing, I'm sorry 😂 and if you read this article and realise you are on the right track, then kudos. I’m proud of everyone who will read this and decide to put these words into practice. This is a seven-part series where we will talk about how to build an effective and enjoyable devotional life. When I realised the need for a devotional life, I found many hurdles I had to overcome. My first question was, “ Am I even meant to be praying to God considering the sins I commit daily, knowingly and unknowingly? If yes, where do I start from? What do I do when I get up and don’t feel like studying m...

WELCOME TO THE YEAR YOU WAITED FOR

Image
💥Happy New Year Believers!! Welcome to your best year. I went on a long break, but I'm back now, permanently😅. My name is Sharon( the beautiful woman of God you see up there😎), and you'll love it here!  This is a blog for that person who wants to do life in God's way💓. I share; ¬tips that help,  ¬truths you must know,  ¬struggles and stories I've faced, heard and gotten out of through God's word.  We live in a world that makes an attempt to blur the lines.  Most lovely and honest believers deal with identity, devotion, and walking in purpose daily in different capacities. I really just want to help you see that you are not alone, you are not a weakling, and there is a way out inside you because God has made you complete, lacking in nothing. You just need to see it. This year, I'll share a lot about Identity and devotion because they are the bedrock of transformation( I should know; I'm a product of both😂). Enjoying your relationship...

An Encouraging word for April

Hello lovely kings and quins, I hope you had or are having a wonderful day? Today is the 31 st of March 2023 and I just wanted to use today's post to say ‘ well done ’ you made it to the third month in February. I know for lots of people you aren’t where you planned to be by now, you haven’t even started on what you prepared for the year before you throw a fit, get upset and disappointed in yourself and lose the drive and desire to keep pushing, I am here to say well done. You have identified your problem; you aren’t where you want to be, don’t let the devil take advantage of a fit to delay you, turn your fury into fuel. Personally, I’ve learnt that the moment you begin to mope you lose energy and drive, I’m not talking about giving yourself a challenging evaluation, rather I’m talking about talking yourself down in such a way that you lose the desire to push, you can always strengthen emotions in prayer, community and praise, Don’t let your speech be impaired your mouth can...
