We are often taught the importance of love, forgiveness, and selflessness. While those are undoubtedly beautiful qualities to embody, sometimes we misunderstand what they truly mean in the context of relationships, especially toxic ones. There's this misconception that staying in a toxic relationship is somehow noble or selfless. We tell ourselves we're patient, forgiving, and enduring, just like Jesus taught us.
